Remortgage

When it comes to remortgaging a property, the conveyancing process is often one of the quickest to complete.

To remortgage, it’s always the terms and requirements of the new lender that are met. The old lender will simply be paid off with the new borrowed amount. If there’s no lender, a new charge is registered on the property.

At Spencer Lockwood Solicitors we understand that speed is key. Whether you’re moving to a better rate, releasing some equity for improvements, or planning a further purchase, time is of the essence. That’s why we manage our workload accordingly, win order to complete your remortgage within an efficient effective time frame.

Can You Act For My Lender?

As part of the initial process, our team will confirm your lender and make sure we can act for them. This avoids any additional fees – and speeds up the process.

How does the remortgaging process go?

  1. We’ll talk through your needs and provide you with a fixed quote.

  2. Once you accept the quote, your case handler will send you all the necessary paperwork immediately.

  3. Simply return the paperwork signed, complete with your certified copies of ID and proof of address. We will check the deeds to make sure any charges or terms are met or removed, as part of the remortgage process.

  4. The money is released by the new lender – either used to pay off the old lender, or transferred to you
